So... the year of SUPER SAVING!
wow... like Dave Ramsey has said... as soon as we decide to make drastic and good financial decisions... guess who comes knocking! MUR...PHY!!!!!!!!!!!!
And wow was that ever true for us!
Van Repairs: $1,089.35 and $650.61
Bathroom Tub Repairs: $115.26
Prescriptions: Lisa and Alexis: $241.50
None of these 3 things were part of our budget...
but we had the money! -
2 major repairs on our family van...
Lisa got pnemonia, Alexis had two ear infections.
WOW - what a month... but we are thankful that we are being strong and sticking to our budget fiercely!
We HAD managed to shave $1,000.00 off of our budget this month... that goes a long way when these emergencies occur!
One little example of something that we did is: For many years we have used pre-purchased gift cards to help us stay on budget. Since Lisa had pnemonia - i did the grocery shopping last weekend. After I had filled up my grocery cart i realized i had forgotten the gift cards at home... instead of just saying "oh well" and using my debit card (like we have done in the past) i told the cashier i'd be back. I left the cart full - went home - picked up the cards - went back and USED THEM!
We will survive... thanks to the Lord for providing... not only finances, but the ability for Lisa and I to work together and support each other in this journey. At times it may be tough, but we KNOW we are doing the right thing!
i love computers (design stuff), the outdoors and sports... a combination that leads to lots of fun indoors and outdoors!
